Ontario PCs Attracting Major Life Sciences Investments and Creating Good-Paying Jobs

In the face of President Trump’s tariffs and continued global economic uncertainty, Ontario’s PC government is attracting major investments, creating good-paying jobs and strengthening our economy for the long term.

Today, Ontario celebrated the opening of Sanofi’s new $925 million vaccine manufacturing facility in North York. The new facility will create 300 highly skilled jobs and strengthen Ontario’s domestic vaccine manufacturing capacity.

Since 2018, Ontario has attracted more than $6 billion in life sciences investments, helping make the province Canada’s largest life sciences jurisdiction and a global leader in biomanufacturing and health sciences.

Ontario’s life sciences sector now employs nearly 76,000 people across more than 2,000 companies and exports more than $14 billion in goods every year.

Through lower costs, less red tape and a highly skilled workforce, our PC government is creating the conditions for companies to invest, innovate and grow right here in Ontario.

These efforts are part of our broader plan that has attracted more than $235 billion in new investment and helped create more than one million jobs since 2018. While President Trump’s tariffs threaten workers and businesses, our Ontario PC team will keep fighting to make Ontario more competitive, resilient and self-reliant, while attracting new investment and creating more good-paying jobs.
